The words of the draft man still ringing in his head, as he walked past the gates of Zancudo “Nothing to do all day but stay in bed” as the gate shut behind him. 6 years of service in Zancudo, leading to a position of Corporal and his civilian life ahead. His footsteps rang along the steel grated road of the bridge as the sun beat down on him and his duffle bag. Sweat beading down his forehead, he called for a taxi, and departed for the city.
His eyes widened, as the peaks of the mountains gave way for the apartment buildings peeking through, to reveal the hustle and bustle of the city. For years he hadn’t seen a city so bustling with life since the days of his youth in Liberty City. His heart filled with grief, for the city he once loved and was now so distant, but he felt determined to make himself anew, in ways he couldn’t in Algonquin.
As the taxi drove through the downtown core, Corporal Alex entered the bustling streets of Los Santos, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. No more drills, no more orders, just the freedom to do whatever he pleased. First on his list was to pick up his sister, Summer, from the subway station.
The taxi pulled up to the station just as Summer emerged from the underground, her hair frazzled from the electric atmosphere that only the Los Santos subway system could produce. The siblings exchanged warm embraces before climbing into the taxi once again and setting off into the heart of the city.
However, as they ventured deeper into Los Santos, it became apparent that their new life together would be anything but ordinary. Just as they passed Legion Square, they bore witness to an extraordinary sight: a man with a live boar attached to his belt, sprinting through Legion Square. The boar, clearly bewildered by its circumstances, blinked wildly as its captor haphazardly navigated the cityscape.
Alex and Summer exchanged baffled glances, their eyes wide with disbelief. “Did you see that?” Alex asked, his voice barely audible over the sound of cars whizzing by. Summer nodded, her jaw hanging open in shock. Before they could process the bizarre spectacle, another surreal event unfolded before their eyes.
Cars careened through red lights at breakneck speeds, seemingly unbothered by the potential for carnage. The siblings clutched each other tightly as their taxi driver expertly navigated the chaos, somehow avoiding the reckless drivers with the agility of a seasoned stuntman.
Suddenly, a series of deafening explosions echoed throughout the city. The siblings instinctively ducked below the height of the window. As they scanned the horizon for signs of danger, they realized that the explosions were merely the soundtrack to an impromptu fireworks display in the middle of the day.
“What is this place?” Summer murmured, her voice tinged with a mixture of awe and trepidation. Alex chuckled nervously, the absurdity of their surroundings slowly sinking in.
“Well, sis,” he said, shaking his head in disbelief, “Welcome to Los Santos, where the only thing you can expect is the unexpected.”
As the taxi continued through the pandemonium, the siblings couldn’t help but feel a sense of exhilaration. After all, in a city like Los Santos, who knew what strange and exciting adventures awaited them around every corner?
