A shadowy figure known as “The Soultaker” has been a part of the city’s underground since the 1960s. Donning a potato sack over his head to conceal his identity, this enigmatic figure recently shared his story with our newspaper in an exclusive interview.
The Soultaker’s journey began with a career as a therapist at Pillbox. He enjoyed his job until criminals started harassing him. As days and weeks went by, the harassment would turn violent and would culminate in being left for dead out in a lake. This unrelenting abuse caused him to snap. Gone was the helpful Therapist that people once knew. Instead, knowing only unmitigated violence, he wanted to show the world what it did to him. So he became one of them, eventually becoming the city’s most notorious kingpin, at least for a time.
As a criminal mastermind, The Soultaker threw the wildest parties, often distributing crystal meth to guests. It was at one of these parties that he met a girl and bought a house in Vinewood. They spent considerable time together, but the relationship took a dark turn when the girl began dating The Soultaker’s coworker, Jack Danial. Together, they plotted to murder The Soultaker.
Miraculously, The Soultaker survived the attempt on his life, waking up in the lake at Grapeseed with half his head missing. This is when he began wearing the potato sack that now defines his image.
Defying categorization, The Soultaker claims to be neither man nor a woman but an idea, emphasizing that actions matter more than identity. In his new role, he offers help to anyone in need, whether they require protection or seek revenge.
Despite the grisly nature of his current state – maggots emerging from his mouth and a leg pieced back together by a doctor – The Soultaker has survived being shot, burned, and more. He remains a mysterious figure whom many in the city have called upon for assistance, invoking his presence with the chilling phrase, “Dead girls tell no lies.”
With a story as captivating and enigmatic as The Soultaker’s, it’s no wonder that he has become an infamous figure in the city’s underworld, leaving a legacy that is both feared and admired.

Following our exclusive interview with the figure known as “The Soultaker,” questions have arisen regarding the plausibility of his injuries. To gain some insight, we sought the opinion of a medical professional, Dr. James Peterson, to evaluate whether someone with such injuries could reasonably be alive.

Dr. Peterson, a trauma surgeon with years of experience, expressed skepticism about the extent of The Soultaker’s injuries, particularly his claim of missing half his head. “The brain is a vital organ, and losing half of it would almost certainly result in death or at least severe cognitive and motor impairments,” Dr. Peterson explained. “However, it’s possible that the injury might be an exaggeration or a metaphor for some type of disfigurement.”
Regarding the maggot infestation in The Soultaker’s mouth, Dr. Peterson noted that while it is unusual, maggots can infest living tissue, especially in cases of severe neglect or wounds left untreated. “Maggots are known to consume dead tissue, which can help clean the wound, but they can also cause further harm to living tissue if left unchecked,” he said.
As for the leg injury, Dr. Peterson mentioned that depending on the severity, it’s not unheard of for a limb to be pieced back together. “With advancements in reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation, it’s possible for someone to regain function in a severely damaged leg,” he added.
In conclusion, Dr. Peterson believes that while some aspects of The Soultaker’s injuries seem far-fetched, others could be plausible. However, without a proper medical examination, it’s impossible to confirm the extent of his injuries and their impact on his health. As with many aspects of The Soultaker’s life, the truth remains shrouded in mystery.
