The people of Los Santos are grieving the tragic loss of Summer Hayes, a 26-year-old reporter with a warm heart and caring soul, found dead on Del Perro Beach on April 21, 2023. Known for her laughter and empathy towards the city’s residents, Summer’s untimely death has shocked the community.

Her body bore the marks of violence: suffering a puncture wound to her stomach, a gunshot wound to the head, and evidence of being burned before being callously cast into the ocean. The heinous crime has left everyone in disbelief, and authorities are actively pursuing leads.
From her earliest days, Summer Hayes was destined to walk in her father’s footsteps. Her dad, the esteemed chief editor of Liberty Tree, nurtured her love for penning stories. The significance of the news deeply resonated with her, fueling her desire to be part of something impactful. As Summer matured, her enthusiasm for journalism only intensified, compelling her to seek opportunities to create change. Boldly charting her own course, she ventured to Los Santos to revive a fading newspaper company. Unwavering in her determination, Summer sought to breathe life into the struggling organization while preserving the principles of journalism her father had championed throughout his distinguished career.
Her passion for the written word extended beyond journalism, as she eagerly delved into the realm of verse, exploring the rich tapestry of human emotions and experiences. Summer also enjoyed indulging in conspiracy theories, no matter how unlikely they seemed. This pastime allowed her to exercise her vivid imagination and consider alternative perspectives. She relished sharing these intriguing ideas with others, sparking lively discussions that allowed her to connect with people on a more personal level and further enrich her understanding of the world around her.

Summer is survived by her younger brother and her parents. She was the driving force behind the Los Santos Meteor, a once-struggling newspaper she revived as publisher. Alongside her brother and a small team, Summer highlighted the stories of the city’s inhabitants and tirelessly covered local news.
Recently, she obtained her BAR certification, aspiring to become the paper’s legal correspondent. Now, with her tragic passing, the Los Santos Meteor has closed its doors for the final time.

Funeral services for Summer Hayes will be held in her hometown of Algonquin, Liberty City. As the community comes to terms with her senseless death, our thoughts are with the Hayes family and everyone who knew and loved Summer. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all she touched through her journalism and her kindness.
